Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog. How are you all doing?
Let me tell you that the day before yesterday I spotted a very curious little plant in the garden. I am pretty sure I have a brand new lettuce seedling that germinated completely on its own! To give you some context: back in the summer, a lettuce plant I kept right next to the Orange tree pot went to seed, so I took the chance to scatter them around using the broadcast seeding method.

Seeing this success, I plan to keep sowing little by little. I will do it through direct broadcasting or by using Nendo Dango (seed bombs), especially around the fruit trees. That is where the highest concentration of worm humus is located, thanks to all the organic matter I processed back then with the help of Red Californian earthworms.

The picture attached was taken today. We have a new plant on the way and I definitely plan to keep sowing! They say it is going to rain next weekend, and since I have saved seeds from previous seasons, it will be the perfect timing. We will keep an eye on this lettuce's growth. However, I must confess I am a bit worried about snails; I haven't been going out at night to check on the garden due to a cold, which luckily is almost cured now.

How much do you know about the surprise garden lettuce? 🥬

1. Where did the new lettuce plant spontaneously germinate?
2. Which sowing method is mentioned to be used around the fruit trees?
3. Thanks to which creature is there a high concentration of humus in that area?
4. Why is the author afraid to go out at night to check on snails?

¡Chears and Happy Farming!

Coming up next: Delicious updates are on the way! In the next post, I will tell you all about the mandarin we are tasting (it is so sweet!) and the mandarin lemons, featuring pictures of their beautiful blossoms. Stay tuned!

Thank you so much for reading and following this green journey with me! See you in the next post.
