Winter: 2026
Natural Farming
Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to talk about one of my favorite herbs: curly parsley! As you can see in image Perejil.jpg, it has a beautiful texture that looks great both in the garden and in a vase.
What do we need to get started?
Before diving into planting, make sure you have
everything you need:
Curly parsley seeds:
You can find them at any garden center or online
store.
Soil
A high-quality, well-draining potting mix is
essential.
Watering can:
To keep the soil moist.
Pot or planter:
Make sure it has drainage holes in the bottom.
Trowel:
For planting and stirring the soil.
Sunny location:
Parsley needs at least 6 hours of direct
sunlight a day.
Let 's plant!
Curly parsley can be planted directly in the
soil or in pots. I prefer direct sowing in a
pot, like the one you see in Perejil.jpg, so I
can move it and protect it from bad weather if
necessary.
Prepare the soil:
Fill the pot with soil up to about 2 cm below
the rim. Moisten the soil with water before
sowing.
Sow the seeds:
Scatter the seeds evenly over the surface of the
soil. Cover them lightly with a thin layer of
soil (about 0.5 cm).
Water gently: Use a watering can with a
diffuser so as not to disturb the seeds. Keep
the soil moist but not soggy.
Be patient! Germination can take between 2 and 4
weeks.
Parsley Care
Watering:
Water regularly to keep the soil moist.
Fertilizing:
You can apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every
2-4 weeks during the growing season.
Pest Control:
Keep an eye out for aphids and other common
pests.
Harvest Time!
Curly parsley is ready to harvest when the
leaves are well-developed. This usually takes
between 2 and 3 months after sowing. To harvest,
simply cut the outer stems with sharp scissors.
Enjoy its delicious flavor in your favorite
dishes!
