🌱Agricultura Natural: Heliotropo silvestre

Es un placer compartir con ustedes la belleza de esta pequeña planta en este cálido día de otoño. Esta planta es un Heliotropo silvestre, una joya sutil que a menudo encontramos en nuestros recorridos diarios.

Nombre Científico: Heliotropium curassavicum o Heliotropium indicum (comúnmente conocidas como Heliotropos). Nombre Vulgar Heliotropo silvestre, Cola de Alacrán, Alacrancillo Características Es una planta herbácea que se distingue por su inflorescencia en cima escorpioide, lo que significa que sus flores se curvan como la cola de un escorpión. Sus flores son pequeñas, de un tono celeste pálido o blanco con un centro amarillento.

Espacios: Se encuentra frecuentemente en huertas, jardines y terrenos baldíos. Es una planta muy resistente que prefiere suelos bien drenados y exposición directa al sol. Rol Ecológico: En las huertas, es excelente para atraer polinizadores, aunque en algunos contextos se considera una maleza debido a su gran capacidad de adaptación.

Growing crops in the Patagonian steppe Soil is both a constant challenge and a wonderful reward. Our land is known for being arid and exposed to strong winds; however, through respectful and natural management, we’ve achieved exceptional fruit quality. These grapes have grown by absorbing the intensity of the Andean sun and the purity of our valley's water, developing a perfect balance between acidity and sweetness. The resilience of the vines at these latitudes proves that, even under rigorous weather conditions, life flourishes strongly when we nurture the soil.

Hoy nos sumergimos en el aroma y el sabor de nuestra reciente cosecha de uva verde aquí en Gaiman, Chubut.

Es un desafío constante y una recompensa maravillosa. Nuestra tierra se caracteriza por ser árida y estar expuesta a los fuertes vientos, pero con un manejo respetuoso y natural, logramos frutos de una calidad excepcional. Estas uvas han crecido absorbiendo la intensidad del sol cordillerano y la pureza del agua de nuestro valle, desarrollando un equilibrio perfecto entre acidez y dulzor. La resistencia de la vid en estas latitudes demuestra que, incluso en condiciones climáticas rigurosas, la vida florece con fuerza si cuidamos el suelo.

Common Name: It is widely known as the Bengal Clock Vine, Blue Trumpet Vine, or Skyflower. Natural Environment and Growth Origin: It is native to Southeast Asia, particularly regions in India and China. Habitat: It thrives in tropical and subtropical climates. This is a very fast-growing vine that uses its twining stems to quickly drape over pergolas, walls, and fences. Quick Tip: It loves full sun to produce those iconic blue-lavender flowers, though it can manage in partial shade.

Qué alegría saludarlos. Es un placer darles la bienvenida a este espacio donde la naturaleza es la protagonista. Esa planta de la imagen es verdaderamente espectacular; tiene una elegancia natural que transforma cualquier jardín.

Esta hermosa planta que ves no es una hiedra común, sino una enredadera vigorosa muy apreciada por su floración persistente. Nombre Científico: Thunbergia grandiflora. Nombre Vulgar: Se le conoce comúnmente como Bignonia azul, Tumbergia azul, Enredadera de trompeta azul o Cielo azul.

Origen: Es nativa del sudeste de Asia, específicamente de países como la India y China . Hábitat: Prospera en climas tropicales y subtropicales. Es una planta trepadora de crecimiento muy rápido que utiliza sus tallos volubles para cubrir pérgolas, muros y vallas. Curiosidad:Prefiere la exposición al sol pleno para florecer con mayor intensidad, aunque tolera la semisombra.

🌱Natural Farming: Golden Harvest!

Good afternoon to all our Blog Natural readers! Today is a day to celebrate in our regenerative garden. We have finally harvested the first Butternut squash (Calabaza Anco) of the season, and the results are outstanding! This organic beauty weighed in at 3 kilos (approx. 6.6 lbs). Plus, there are 7 more still growing on the vine, promising a bountiful winter stock.

This squash is more than just its size; it’s the product of years spent nurturing soil health: Deep Nutrition: The plant grew over a base of solid worm humus buried two or three years ago. This deep nutrient reserve allowed the roots to find constant nourishment. No-Till Management: For the last two years, I haven't tilled or plowed the soil. Instead, I used crop residue (mulch) on the surface, protecting moisture and encouraging microbial life. Natural Allies: Ladybugs played a crucial role as a natural biological control against powdery mildew, keeping the leaves healthy without any chemical intervention.
