🌱 Natural Farming: Gardening, Maintenance and Pruning

Today’s focus was on the side section of the garden, where the vegetation was starting to call for some order and structure. The work centered on two main stars with very different needs:

Elephant Ear Pruning (Alocasia) These plants are stunning due to their tropical presence, but they tend to take up a lot of space and can look a bit untidy when the older leaves begin to fade.

Base Cleaning: I removed the lower leaves that were already showing signs of yellowing or mechanical damage. This not only improves the overall look but also helps the plant focus its energy on the new, central shoots.

Air Clearance: By thinning out the excess foliage at the bottom, we allow better air circulation and light for the groundcover plants growing alongside it.

The rose bush received a necessary intervention to stimulate its health and future blooming.

Structural Pruning: I worked on clearing out the center of the bush, removing dry or crossing branches that could encourage disease.

Stimulation: By pruning back the weaker branches and leaving the more vigorous stems, we are setting the stage for a much stronger and more organized growth.

General Tasks
In addition to pruning, I did a quick pass over the lawn and cleaned up the flowerbeds, ensuring the area around the plants is free of plant debris that could attract pests. The contrast is now remarkable: the garden looks much more open, tidy, and ready to keep growing with vigor.

Pruning on time is the best gift we can give our plants to ensure they look radiant in the coming season.

¡Chears and happy Farming!

That’s all for today! I’m signing off for now, but tomorrow we’ll meet again to talk about a shrub I love for its color and resilience: the Tecomaria capensis. See you tomorrow!
