🌱 Natural Farming: Natural Tomato
Welcome back to the blog! It’s great to have you here again.
Today I have a very exciting update about our volunteer tomato plant—the one that spontaneously sprouted back in the summer and that I’ve been caring for using the double-pot system and organic substrates.
Nature just keeps on giving! The plant has grown back beautifully, and if you look closely at the photos, every single stem now has flower buds! I am absolutely thrilled!

The weather over the last few days has been an ideal catalyst. We’ve been having very humid days with a lot of fog, which provides great ambient moisture and keeps the plant safe since we haven't felt the harsh winter cold just yet. This environment is perfect for the plant to channel its energy into floral development instead of fighting off frost.

Regarding today's maintenance, I spent some time trellising:
I’ve just tied them up with twine to keep them growing straight and strong.
They still need to develop a bit more so they are long enough to safely tie back without straining the plant.
Given that the buds are looking medium to large, I'm dying to know: will it be a round tomato or a plum (Roma) tomato? In tomato plants, the bud's initial size and shape can hint at the variety, but the final verdict will come once they bloom and set fruit. We’ll see in a few days with a new post if this plant officially starts flowering!
