🌱Natural Farming: Growing Yamaní Rice
The journey of Yamaní rice (Oryza sativa) in my greenhouse is officially underway. During this initial stage, temperature control is key. As evening approaches here at home, I’ve applied a bit of liquid humus for nourishment and covered the seedlings to trap the heat, adding an extra layer of protection inside the greenhouse. Tomorrow morning, I’ll uncover them so they can soak up the morning and midday sun. First photo: emerged cotyledon.

In the photos, you can observe the coleoptile emerging and the seedling beginning to develop its first structures. To shield them from the winter chill, I’m planning to repurpose a 6.5-liter bottle by cutting it in half to create a mini-greenhouse dome. Second Photo: First cotiledon
I’m also starting a new batch today! I'll be soaking more rice seeds before moving them to a damp paper towel tray to continue the germination cycle and fill the greenhouse with even more life.
